Is Candy Shorts Free? What You Get Before You Pay

Is Candy Shorts free, or only free to start?

Free to start, not free to finish. Almost every series follows the same three steps: a free first episode, a second one behind a free account, then a lock. That gives you two episodes of almost any series without paying, which is enough to know whether a story is for you.

The exceptions show up in the table on this page. The Spicy shelf is the big one: when we opened its 17 series with a free account on October 26, 2026, every episode was locked behind Premium, episode 1 included.

What does a free Candy AI account unlock?

In Candy Shorts, the free account opens episode 2 of most series. Across the rest of Candy AI, its Help Center lists what a free user can do:

• send up to 5 chat messages in total, across all characters;
• create one custom AI character;
• generate one image, in the image generator or in chat.

Signing up needs no payment. Everything beyond that list belongs to Premium or costs tokens.

How to watch Candy Shorts for free

1. Open Candy Shorts on Candy AI and pick a series, or choose one from our episode guide.
2. Press play: episode 1 starts without an account.
3. When episode 2 asks for it, create a free account. No card is needed.
4. Stop at the lock, or unlock the rest with tokens or a subscription.

Where does the paywall sit?

At episode 3 in almost every series. On October 27, 2026, 158 series asked 12 tokens per locked episode and 15 asked 30. On a series page Candy AI offers two ways past the lock: buy one episode with tokens, which the window calls “yours forever”, or upgrade to a subscription, which it says unlocks “all premium episodes”.

What a whole series costs depends on its length: from 36 tokens for My Stepsister’s Slumber Party to 384 for My bestie betrayed me. The prices page has the plans and the full ranking.

Is there a Candy AI free trial?

Not one we could find. The plans page we checked on October 26, 2026 listed three paid plans and no trial. The 12-month plan was the cheapest per month, at $3.99, billed $47.88 up front. Candy AI does accept refund requests within 24 hours of a payment, but only if you have used 20 tokens or fewer and paid by card, so it is not a way to try Premium for free.

Are there free Candy Shorts somewhere else?

Not legally. Sites that promise whole series for free, “leaked” episodes or downloads are not run by Candy AI, and what they offer is usually a trailer, a copy or a different video. Our guides to leaks and Telegram and to full episodes look at what they really are.

Our take on the free tier

Use it as intended: as a filter. Two free episodes of a series tell you more than any description, and they cost nothing. If a story doesn’t grab you by episode 2, move on to the next one in the table below.
